...[He]denies each and every
allegation contained in said complaint except such as are hereinafter exemply
[?] admitted. The said defendant
Henderson Wilson states that he is the legal and equitable owner and holder of
one hundred acres of land described in the deed dated 5th day of June 1865 made
by Julio Carrillo to Henry Beaver. That the said defendant Wilson further
states that he and those under whom he claims to own the said one hundred acres
of land have been in two undisturbed adverse hap[?] of the same for more
then five years and that if the said plaintiff had any cause of actions for the
said land against this defendant or those under whom he claims the said accused
more than five years next before the institution of these actions. And that
their ancestor, predecessor, or grantor was sent signed or hapaperd[?]
of these premises described in plaintiffs complaint within five year years
before the commencement of this action. The defendant Wilson further states that James A.
Cockrill and Mary M Cockrill were married to each other long prior to the date
of the supposed contact between the said James A. Cockrill and the said Julio
Carrillo, and if the said James A. Cockrill had any interest in or right to the
land described in plaintiff complaint it was common property between himself
and the said Mary M. Cockrill now Mary M. Case. Wherefore the deft pray that
the said plaintiff's complaint be disregarded[?] and that deft have
