POPULAR YOUNG
COUPLE TO WED AT NOON TO-DAY. |
||
Today at high noon, at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Colburn, in Bloomfield, Miss Lulu I. Colburn will become the bride of William A. Cockrill, senior member of the merchandise firm of Cockrill and Colburn at that place. The ceremony will be performed by Rev. Mr. Givens, pastor of the Bloomfield M. E. church, and many relatives and friends of the couple will be present. The parlors of the Colburn residence have been nicely decorated in honor of the occasion. Owing to the prominence of the contracting parties the wedding will be the cardinal social function of the season in western Sonoma county. The bride's costume is a traveling suit of navy blue broadcloth with white trimmings. She will be attended by Miss Marguerite Cockrill, sister of the groom, as bridesmaid. Raymond C. Colburn, brother of the bride, will act as best man. |

The
ceremony will be followed by a wedding breakfast, and this afternoon the happy
young couple will depart for San Francisco where a brief honeymoon will be
spent. Upon their return they will take up their residence in a neat cottage
that the groom has prepared for his bride. Miss Colburn is a handsome young lady and possesses a sweet disposition and many accomplishments. She is a prominent member of Bloomfield Rebekah Lodge and numbers her friends by the scores. Mr. Cockrill is a son of Dr. Bruce Cockrill, the well-known pioneer physician of Bloomfield. For a number of years past he has been in the general merchandise business with Raymond C. Colburn, brother of the young lady whom he is about to claim as his bride. He is an influential and successful young man and is also a leading figure in fraternal circles, being a Mason, Odd Fellow, Forester and Maccabee. The bride and groom are members of pioneer families, and their many friends, including THE SEMI-WEEKLY TIMES, extend the compliments of the hour and best wishes for an unstinted measure of life's joys and comforts. |
