Dear
Friends of Spring Hill Cemetery,
It was a lovely day today at the cemetery - sunny skies and cool enough to
make working a pleasure. Seven of us gathered for this clean up.
This winter was a wet one, and that made the grasses and weeds very happy.
Grasses and weeds sprouted everywhere, including over our paths (see first
attached picture). Most of our time was spent on path maintenance, hoeing
out grasses from the paths, pulling weeds, and raking. The first
attachment was a before picture, with the second one taken after the
grasses were laboriously removed. The next three pictures are of our
raking efforts, and finally, our lovely tamed paths. The last picture, as
usual, is of our work group. Many thanks to Regional Parks for providing
us the tools and necessary dump truck, water, and snacks (lots of Cheetos
today...). My deep thanks to those that joined in today's effort.
Our next workday will hopefully be in June -- please pencil in June 7. I
will verify the date with Regional Parks, and let you know if it needs to
be altered. Come join us, if you can!
Best Regards,
Sue
