Dear Friends of Spring Hill Cemetery, Ten of us gathered at the cemetery for today's workday. Weather conditions were perfect for work - slightly cool, and a bit overcast in the morning. We found the cemetery very dry from months of no rain, but there is a possibility of rain beginning next week. The cemetery remains in very good shape. Paul Schoch kindly joined us once again to update our official cemetery map (attachment one). It has been exactly a year since our last update. Coming into today we thought we had three additions to the map, but ended up the day having five. In the period since our last update, we uncovered the intact Olive Johnson stone, plus foot stone, and base. Also discovered was the base next to Olive, we assume to be that of her sister, C M Johnson. In the Crayne area of the cemetery, we found Florence Lavender's footstone. Paul made all of his updates and departed. The rest of us continued with path maintenance (attachment 2), and a couple of us took the probe and began to search for more stones (attachments 3 and 4). Using the probe, Jeremy and Sally were able to locate two additional footstones, those of Evilena Heffron, and her sister, Cora Heffron. It was good timing, as hopefully Paul will be able to include today's two finds in our current map update. We all remain amazed and delighted to keep uncovering stones more than 10 years into the Spring Hill Restoration project. And I count we have about 30 more to locate. I will leave you with attachment 5, showing our gorgeously maintained paths, and our group picture, attachment 6. Please come and join us on November 16th, for the last 2018 workday. Best Regards, Sue
