Now
comes the said Joseph W. Ridgeway plaintiff above named and complaining of T.
M. Harris, Phebe Harris and Jacob Harris the said defendants, and for cause of
action alleges.
That heretofore to wit on the sixteenth day of September in the year of our
Lord One thousand eight-hundred and ninety at Santa Rosa in the County of
Sonoma, and State of California, the said defendants made in writing and
delivered to the said plaintiff their promissory note in words and signatures
following:-
"SANTA ROSA, September 16th., 1890.
three Months after date We or either of us promise to pay to Joseph W. Ridgeway
or Order the Sum of Six Hundred $600 Dollars in Gold Coin with interest to be
paid every three Months and if not paid added to the principal and draw the
same rate of interest

That
the plaintiff is the owner and holder of said note. That no part of the
principal or interest of said note has been paid and the whole thereof is now
due and owing by the said defendants to the said Plaintiff.
Wherefore Plaintiff prays for judgment against the said defendants for the sum
of six hundred dollars in gold coin, and interest thereon from the sixteenth
day of September A.D. 1890 compounding quarterly, and for costs of suit.
