The parcel is another portion of the Rancho Cabeza de Santa Rosa. The rest of Fannie Fulkerson's estate consisted of a household table and kitchen furniture, "trinkets", wearing apparel, etc. worth $100, giving the total estate a value of $4100. At the time of her death her next of kin and heirs were listed.
The original will was left with Jno T. Campbell. In her will, Fannie M. Fulkerson wanted to be buried in the Fulkerson Cemetery next to her husband. To her grandchildren:
Loran T. Grider is probably the son of Sarah Fulkerson, Dr. Fulkerson's daughter from his previous marriage.
She appoints "my friend Solomon Buckmaster as executor" and also states that "my land is now leased to Solomon Buckmaster under a five year lease it is my wish that said lease be not interfered with but remain as if I were alive for the full term."
Fannie M. Fulkerson had only one surviving daughter, a Sarah E. Grimsley from a previous marriage. She had three husbands. According to Sonoma County Marriages 1847-1902, a John McKnight married an Eva Grimsby on November 15 1881. A marriage record with her other two husbands is not listed in the Sonoma County list. Sarah E. McKnight or Eva Grimsby is known only as Sarah E. Whitecomb in this probate record and is later remarried and is known as Sarah E. Miller.
To this Sarah, Fannie Fulkerson bequeathed:
The Witnesses to the will were Robt. W. Miller and Jno. T. Campbell.
The "rights and reversionary interests in and to certain tract of land deed" to which the Rincon Valley School was standing had been transferred to from her husband to her on February 18, 1893. In order to pay off the claims of indebtedness to the estate, a mortgage had to be taken out on 20.44 acres of property. There is a distribution of inventory final account Nov. 15, 1904. The legatees list is changed to Carrie McKnight Cody, Lloyd Whitecomb, Lena Miller and Vivian Miller. Solomon Buckmaster signs the account with an "X" and M. A. Kurlander is one of the witnesses. There is a description of the property:
The property is ordered to be sold on December 13, 1909 and is sold for $3,550 on January 24, 1910 to a G. L. Reed. The funds remaining after the debts are paid go into the life estate for Sarah E. Miller. Solomon Buckmaster dies April 15, 1923, and it appears that Sarah E. Miller is appointed administrator of the estate. Property at 723 Wright Avenue (Lot 76 in block 8) is bought for her to live in as a condition of the life estate which her mother had set up for her. In 1924, another list of Fannie Fulkerson's heirs is made:
A description of the Wright Avenue property in July 21, 1924 property reveals that this house is also in a bad and run-down state. It has an unsafe foundation and the roof leaks. The two back rooms of the house are only "roughly finished and a menace to the health of the occupants." The house has no bath facilities and needs $800 worth of repair.
Sometime around September 8, 1924, Sarah E. Miller passed away. The Bank of Italy then appoints themselves as the executor of Fannie Fulkerson's estate. The Wright Avenue property is sold and the balance of the estate on July 5, 1924 is $1545.94, which is finally divided up equally among the many children of Sarah E. Miller. So goes the eventual demise of Dr. T. S. Fulkerson's estate.
