PIONEER WOMAN PASSES IN S. R.

Mrs. Mary A. Harris Resident of Lewis District for Forty-six Years

Mrs. Mary A. Harris, wife of Thompson M. Harris, and resident of Lewis school district near here for the past 46 years, died in a local hospital last night. Mrs. Harris was taken ill several days ago and brought here where a major operation was performed in an effort to save her life. She was a native of California and had she lived 20 more days she would have reached her 72nd birthday. The funeral will be held Monday from the chapel of Lafferty and Smith, with the Rev. J. Miller Ice officiating. Burial will be in the family plot at the Fulkerson cemetery.
She is the mother of Mrs. William P. Terry of Pinole; Mrs. Fern Reeder and Bert Harris of Vallejo, and the late Mrs. M. McLachlan, Hazel and Jake Wesley Harris. She is a sister of Mrs. G. G. Youker of Rincon Valley; Mrs. Edith Bernis of San Francisco; P. Ashcraft of Santa Rosa, and Arthur Cantrell of Laytonville.
