Part of the Rancho Cabeza de Santa Rosa. Commencing on the most northeasterly corner of the land sold by Julio Carrillo to James A. Cockrill. Containing 160 acres for which Richard Fulkerson paid $1500. This deed is also mentioned in a lawsuit c. 1867 between Lucinda E. (Cockrill) Claypool, et. al. and Henry S. Beaver (her uncle by marriage), et. al. The lengthy case concerns who had clear title to this particular parcel which Carrillo had originally sold to Cockrill who died in 1853 and Carrillo later said that Beaver was the rightful owner. |

Theodore T. Clark and J. L. Dinwiddie as assignee in Insolvency of Spenser Childers, are the defendants. It was among other things ordered that his land be auctioned. On Oct 13, 1879 at a public auction at 12 o'clock, for $318 07/100 in gold coin from Richard Fulkerson, the highest bidder, for one hundred and nine square parcels which were part of the 80 acre tract conveyed to J. B. Armstrong by Richard Fulkerson Feb. 16, 1876. |
