Ricard Fulkerson's handwritten will exists in the Santa Rosa Genealogical Library, along with a few of the original probate forms. Included is a "Testimony of Subscribing Witness on Probate of Will" by his brother, T. S. Fulkerson on May 6, 1882. There is another "Testimony of Subscribing Witness on Probate of Will" by a L. W. Burris on July 30, 1887. There is a "Testimony of Applicant on Probate of Will" by his son-in-law, Jacob Harris on November 29, 1887, and there is a "Certificate of Proof of Will" by a John G. Parsley, Superior Court Judge on December 19, 1887. Richard Fulkerson's will is dated May 6, 1882, a copy of it in a different handwriting exists in the microfilmed probate record which is in the County Clerks office.
Richard Fulkerson declared Jacob Harris, his son-in-law (wife of Phoebe F. Fulkerson) executor for fifty dollars. If he could not do it, then it would be John Fulkerson, then Stephen T. Fulkerson, Ruth Barnes, Phoebe Harris or Mary Henderson. He gave detailed instruction on how his bank stock and personal property should be divided among his children and grandchildren. The will was witnessed by T. S. Fulkerson, T. M. Harris (Jacob's son), and Wm. E. McConnell.
Dispersal of the estate was to be made as follows:
The balance of the estate after expenses, was to be bequeathed to his children equally. The will was witnessed by T. S. Fulkerson, T. M. Harris, and Wm. E. McConnell
There was a codicil to the will written July 30, 1887 after the death of his oldest daughter, Ruth Barnes. It leaves his walking stick to her son Richard O. Barnes, and at the time of his death, it should go to the oldest of Richard Fulkerson's living male heirs. The Witnesses to this codicil are L. W. Burris and O. H. Hoag, both residents of Santa Rosa.
