From A History of the Fulkerson Family from 1630 to the Present, by Laila Fulkerson Thompson, (Vol. 51 of D. A. R. California Bible and Family Records), p. 197:

John and Margaret lived in Nelson County and moved into that part of Hardin County that was partitioned into Grayson County in 1810. They lived on Big Clifty Creek. John received some land in Ohio County in his brother Philip's will in 1813. But from tax records it appears that John did not own land in Grayson County, although several of his children were land owners there.

John's pension does not mention three of his children, so they must have died prior to his death. John Jr., Fulkard and Elizabeth are not listed among his surviving children in 1832. We know of their existence by marriage bonds for several of the sisters signed by Fulkard and John Jr., and mentioning that John Sr. had given his consent.
