Sir:

I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt from your Office

of application for Pension No. 168. 659 , and to return it

herewith, with such information as is furnished by the files of this

Office.

  It appears from the Rolls on file in this Office, that

Nathaniel Pickering was enrolled on the 1

day of July , 1864, [at] in Greene Co. Tenn in Co. F ,

...........3d Regiment of Tenn. Mtd. Infy Volunteers, to

serve 100 days [years], or during the war, and mustered into

service as a Pvt on the 29 day of Sept

1864, at Knoxville Tenn , in Co. F , 3d

Regiment of Tenn. Mtd. Infy. Volunteers, to serve 100 days

[years, or during the war.< material struck out]

The only roll of this company on file at this office,

is the Muster-In Roll, dated Sept. 29, 1864. The desired information cannot be furnished.
