I Edward Wright of the county of Montgomery and State of North
Carolina being of sound mind and memory but considering the uncertainty of my
earthly existence do make and declare this my last will and testament in manner
and form following that is to say: 1st I give
and bequeath unto my beloved wife Fereby Wright all the land that I possess my
housing orchard and farm whereon I now live together with all the crop stock
and provision on hand at my death to her and her heirs and assigns forever. I
also give to my said wife Fereby all my House hold and Kitchen furniture and
all my farm utensils, and tools my wagon and three horses together with all my
stock of cattle and hogs to her and her heirs and assigns forever and further
more I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Fereby my negro man Ephaim to her
and her heirs and assigns forever. 2nd I give
and bequeath unto my son James Wright fifty cents and no more to him or his
heirs forever. 3rd I give and bequeath unto my
daughter Elizabeth Arnette fifty cents and her heirs forever. 4th I give and bequeath unto my son Joshua Wright
fifty cents and no more to him or his heirs forever. 5th I give and bequeath unto my son Jacob Wright fifty
cents and no more to him or his heirs forever. 6th I give and bequeath unto my son Sampson Wright
fifty cents and no more to him or his heirs forever.
7th I give and bequeath unto my son Willis Wright
fifty cents and no more to him or his heirs forever. 8th I give and bequeath unto Wilson Williams a Boy of
color my tract of land being on Chulks Creek supposed to contain two hundred
acres known by the name of the grind stone quarry. And lastly, I here by
constitute and appoint my trusty friend William Butler and Alexander A.
McCaskell lawful executions to all intent and purposes to execute this my last
will and testament according to the true intent and meaning of the same. A
<?> and clause thereof hereby making and Declaring void all other will
and testaments by me heretofore made in witness whereof I the said Edward
Wright do hereunto set my hand and seal this February 6th on thousand eight
