The first deed filed 20 December 1909, and recorded in Woodruff County Deeds, Book X Page 53. It listed F. P. Wright, R. L. Wright, J. A. Wright & Sarah A. Wright / and Sallie Wright, Ida Wright, Callie Wright, their wives respectively, as grantors. R.L. Wright, J.A. Wright, & Sarah Wright were notarized as living in Logan County, AR.

Dr. Morris had moved into the DeView area in 1900 and passed away in 1979 at the age of 104. Besides being the town doctor he was a successful farmer (his first farm was bought from Richard Chappel near Possum Creek and Bayou DeView in 1901) and business man. He built a cotton Gin in McCrory, had the first electrified home in DeView, and owned the first car (a "Hupmobile.").
An article about him can be found in Woodruff County Historical Society: Rivers and Roads and Points In Between, Vol. III No.1, Winter, 1975, "A Tribute to John William Morris, M.D.," by Dr. Charles M. Davis, p. 2. Also, Vol. II, No. 3, Summer 1974, "`The Office' at DeView," by John W. Morris, M. D. (contains a small picture of his office with DeView residents gathered for July 4, 1913).
