Jordan Union No. 673, had a good meeting Saturday night, with thirty one members present. Jordan Union never before made such a progressive move as it did last Saturday night when we received into our local the following brothers: Messrs A. E. Burrows, T. B. Ford, G. T. Hay, J. G. Dupree, I. M. McCuan, F. P. Wright, and J. F. Barber. Such men as these, with others that we already have means a great spoke in the wheel of the F. E. & C. U. of A. The most important subject before the Union was that of "Trading", several members addressed the Local upon the subject and everyone enjoyed themselves very much for having been present at such an interesting meeting, Next Saturday night will be just as good if not better, let every member be present, on time. Jordan is fastly making it's way towards success and ere long. She will be second to none. Boost your union and the F. E. & C. U. of A. |
Note from Gayle Martinsen: I. M. (Mitch) McCuan was a well known farmer that lived on Possum Creek [across the road from the 10 acre farm which had belonged to Hancel Crossett], he came from Alabama when he was 16 years old... It was said that he ran away from Alabama because he killed a man... He died in 1945 and his obits said he came to Woodruff Co. 74 years ago. He was one of the first pioneers in Arkansas.
