Much of the material used here about the Bardin family and its ancestry, has been derived from the research of John MacKenzie, a descendant of Jesse and Jeanette Bardin. | |||
According to the
histories written about his father, James, Jesse came to California with his
parents and siblings in 1856 by boat. The family first settled on land near the
site of what became known as Blanco in Monterey County. According to the family stories, he dug the grave to bury his wife's grandmother, Rebecca (Venable) Cockrill. |

Listed in the 1890 San Jose City Directory, including Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, and Monterey Counties for Blanco, Monterey County: |
