Anna (Nancy) Beaver, b.

rec'd) to Abraham Roads, b. Nov. 22, 1787, Shenandoah Valley, Va., d. Oct. 22,
1836 (stone in Licking cem. in Licking Co., O)...
Anna (or Nancy) Beaver was born and raised in the
Shenandoah Valley, Va. She married Abraham Roads in Shenandoah Co., Va., before
their parents moved to Licking Co., O. Their first child was born in Virginia.
They made their trip overland to Licking Co., O., in 1810 with their baby
Rebecca. Here they settled on a tract of 300 acreas in Union twp., which
Abraham's father, John Roads II had purchased on a visit to Ohio in 1807. They
moved into a log cabin which was built on the land by Indians. It was 1 1/2
miles northwest from Hebron, O. Here Anna and Abraham raised their family, and
Abraham d. in this cabin, 1836. Her son Joseph brought his bride there in 1838
and the widow's family and Joseph and family lived in the cabin until 1852,
when Joseph moved his family and his mother into a fine new house. Here in 1866
she died.
Anna's parents moved to Ohio in 1813 or shortly
before, and Abraham's parents followed in 1814. In the division of land, Dec.
16, 1831, following the death of John Roads, Abraham and Annna took the 300
acres on which they lived at $1400 (Licking Co. Deed Book P, p. 532. They lived
on this farm until their death. Issue 9 children [p.
