Notes:
There was a C. F.
McGlashan who was the author of one of the first (1880) books about the Donner
Party, History of the Donner Party: A Tragedy of the Sierra. This
McGlashan was born in Janesville, Wisconsin in 1847 and appears to be not
related to Andrew.
Andrew's parents appear to be living in dwelling #
240, next door to Henry Beaver's family in the 1870 Census record for
Montery Co., Alizal Township (Post Office Salinas).

Andrew, and supposedly his brothers as well, came to CA by ship
and over the Isthmus of Panama in 1864. He was a native of New York state. He
was a farmer. There is mention of him in the publication, History of Kings
County. Family information from 1880 Census Lemoore Township, 1900 Census
Kings Co. 266B sheet 18 5/34, 11 June 1900 Lemoore Township, lines 51-65. Also
knowledge of John Andrew McGlashan. |
