Benjamin Beaver, b. March 5, 1829, d. Aug. 2, 1865 (typhoid); bur. at Kenton, O.; m. twice; m. first, Jan. 20, 1850, to Rachel Ann Pitzer, b. in 1832, d. Nov. 10, 1861. Bur. at Kenton, O. She was of the Pitzer family who pioneered into Ohio about the same time the first Beavers did. Issue 6 children to this union... Benjamin Beaver m. second, Feb. 24, 1863, to Sarah Louise Smith, of Newark, O., b. about 1838, d. in Kenton, O., Aug ----. Issue one child.... Benjamin Beaver moved the first year of his first marriage (1850) to Marion Co., Ill. Two years later moving back to Ohio, settling on a farm near Sunbury, Delaware Co. In 1858 he moved to Hayden Co., near Kenton, where his first wife died. In 1863 he remarried and in 1865, several months before the birth of the only child by Sarah Louise Smith's marriage, he died of typhoid fever during the epidemic, which also that year took the lives of Benjamin's son Oliver and his daughter, Rosa Arletta, Benjamin's brother Abraham and their mother, Elizabeth Roads Beaver. Martin Beaver, the father, was seriously ill, but survived. The year before June 13, 1864, another brother, Isaac Beaver, also succumbed to typhoid fever.
