...Lavina Logan, was born 22 May 1817, and died 6 Sept. 1845. |

The state of her birth has been inferred here from the 1880 Census for Wm. B. Cockrill, where the birthplace for the mother of Francis W. and Thomas J. is listed as Tennessee. The state where she died was believed to be Missouri by Jeanne Miller. She does not appear in her husband's 1850 Census listing for Bates Co., MO. Mike Jones, a Logan family researcher, believes that Lavina died in Illinois during a cholera epidemic in 1852. It is possible she passed away in Illinois on 6 Sep 1845?

A comment. We didn't have a birth date for Levina Logan, so I'm appreciative of the 22 May 1817 date. I see that's a source from the DAR records you mentioned. I'll note, though, that the birth date is a bit problematic since, if Levina and William B. Cockrill were married 2 May 1826 as per the Allen County, Kentucky, marriage records, she would have been 9 years old. It makes me wonder if "1817" was written or transcribed in error and it was actually 1807. Zachariah and Peggy were married in 1807, but.... That date would fit more closely with William B. Cockrill's date of birth of 1804.
