He was listed
"as one draughted to raise two battalions of milita to reinforce the American
Army, to serve until December 10, 1781". He and his six brothers served in
the Revolutionary War.

Transported into the Colony of Virginia at a
date prior to March 25, 1651. Probably was in the Colonies in the year 1650 or
before. In February 1663, Maurice Baker was domiciled in Anne Arundel
County, Province of Maryland, for in that month he was a guest in the home of
John Homeswood, according to a deposition made by John Arnold on May 17,
1664. Acquired land on Kent Isle, Maryland. Proof of his ownership is
evidenced on December 10, 1665, when he sold a 180 acre tract of land to Robert
Davidge. |

II. Charles Baker, died in 1737. He lived in
Anne Arundel County, Maryland. He married twice: Hannah (from which the
following line is traced) and Avarilla Hawkins. III. Morris Baker, died
1774. Married Christian Grafton, the daughter of William Grafton of Baltimore
County, Maryland. IV. Morris Baker, born circa 1730, Baltimore Co.,
Maryland; died in 1781. Married Elizabeth Dorsey, a
cousin.
