Memoriam
Ukiah, June
13, 1900
Whereas, The Great
Omnipotent in tenderest mercy has called to our brother, "Thou immortal spirit,
return to the Fountain of all Light, Thou mortal man, rest in peace," and
[unreadable] Whereas, He as a brother Rebekah was faithful to his
obligations, kind and attentive to his companions; never weary in well doing,
and Whereas, He as a father was gentle and indulgent, ever striving to lead
his children in the path of honor, and Whereas, He as a citizen was
courteous, reliable and just in all his dealings, faithfully following the
precepts of the Golden Rule; therefore be it [unreadable] Resolved, That by
the death of Lewis S. Sullivan our lodge is bereft of its most loved member.
That the city of Ukiah has lost one of its most honorable citizens and that the
world has lost a consistent Christian, and be it further. Resolved, That
copies of these resolutions be sent to the mourning family and That these
resolutions be entered on our lodge books, and That, Our charter be draped
thirty days in commemoration of our departed brother. Respectifully
submitted in F. L. and T.
