Notes:

1860 Census lists his personal wealth as $250. Stephen and Amanda Fulkerson, and their first born son Henry were also living in his household according to this census.

The 1870 Census lists his Real Estate being worth $600, and his personal property at $800. He lived next door to his mother-in-law, Phoebe Harris, in 1870. Phoebe is enumerated living with the Norris family in the 1880 Census.

Other individuals buried in Norris gravesite (Fulkerson site 31) are Araminta Norris (b. 1867, d. 1878), and an "Infant" Norris (n.d.).

Charles Norris had been married twice before.

Charles Gilbert Norris' will, from Index and Abstract of Wills, Sonoma County, California 1850-1990, Book C Page 497, #1384, written 22 December 1883:

  Wife: Martha E. Children: Luke P. H., Theodorus, Mary Jane McPeak, Leroy, Samuel H., James N., Charles, Bertha M., Sarah C. Holden. Executor: Wife Witnesses: Wm. E. McConnell, Clark Wells.  

Extracted from a chronology of Charles Gilbert Norris compiled by Wilma Perin and Nancy Miller:

  Was born in Ohio and was living in Tuscarawas Co., Ohio at the time of his marriage in 1836. The 1840 Census shows the family of Charles Norris living in Macon County, Missouri. After the death of his first wife, Charles marries Martha Harris between the years 1844 to 1851 in either Missouri or Iowa. In 1850, the family shows up being listed in Davis County, Iowa. Their first child was born in Bloomfield, Davis Co., Iowa. the next two where in either Missouri or Iowa. In 1852, the family left Missouri and immigrated to California on the California trail (according to History of Mendocino and Lake Counties). They settled in Santa Rosa, and continued to have children there until Charles's death in 1884.
