Sacred To the memory of Mary, Wife of Henry Hardin Born in Jefferson Co. KY. March 1st 1803, Died January 4th 1866. ___________________ She united with the M. E. Church A. D. 1820. In 1844 she connected herself with the M. E. Church South and was a faithful and consistent member of that Church until her death

This is engraved on the top of her above ground crypt. M. E. Church is Methodist Episcopal Church. Mary later joined the Methodist Episcopal Church South. My gr gr gr grandfather Rev. John T. Cox (1800-1860), who is also buried in Macedonia Cemetery was a minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church South.
