Listed in the 1850 Census for Davis County, Iowa, living in Perry Township, as Merril Mize, age 21, a farmer with $1300 in Real Estate, and living with his wife, Mary, and his father-in-law, Richard Fulkerson. Merrill's family lived in the same household as the Jacob Harris family according to 1860 Census in Sonoma County. He had $1500 in Real Estate and $3000 in personal property in 1860; $3000 in Real Estate and $500 in personal property listed in the 1870 Census. There is an infant Merrill Mize (died 7 January 1865 at 5 months) buried in the same plot as Thompson Mize. |
