His first name is also listed as "Theodorus" along with several other spellings.
Enumerated (88) next to Theodore Grider (89) in the 1880 Census.
There is a biography of "T. S. Fulkerson, M.D." in An Illustrated History of Sonoma County, California.
He came to Santa Rosa by wagon train in 1864 (not in 1853 as recollected by Elaine Z. Minney in the Press Democrat article from June 24, 1951). He and his wife made their home in Rincon Valley. He was a 32nd degree Mason.
From a remembrance by Verna Waldon, A History of the Fulkerson Family from 1630 to the Present by Laila Fulkerson Thompson (Vol. 51 of D. A. R. California Bible and Family Records), p. 220.:
Dr. Theodore S. Fulkerson, owned a farm in Rincon valley, the first portion of which he purchased from Julio Carrillo on August 5, 1865 (Book 17 Page 518). On November 8, 1880, (Book 72 Page 593) he deeded land to the Rincon Valley School District. There were three trustees to the Rincon Valley School District with whom Dr. Fulkerson dealt with, Abel S. Saxton, James Austin, and Jacob Harris -- his brother's son-in-law. There is a short history of the Rincon Valley School District in the Santa Rosa Genealogical Library (371.01 Cesneros). When I was young, we would drive over to Santa Rosa from Napa and meet my grandparents at the old Rincon Valley School. Both of them had gone to school there. It was up on a small but rather steep hill and it had long been closed, but it was a convenient place to meet. It was eventually torn down in the sixties and replaced by a small park.
Extracted deed transfer records listing T. S. Fulkerson as Grantee and Grantor can be found here.
Doc Fulkerson had a pretty busy time delivering babies it appears. The birth records in the Hall of Records have many references to him. Unfortunately the information in these records are quite sparse and contain a lot of misspellings.
An obituary for Dr. T. S. Fulkerson, can be found in The Press Democrat.
Another obituary can be found in The San Francisco Call.
There was no will or probate record for the Doctor, however, his widow, second wife Fannie M. (Lock) Fulkerson left both a will, and a rather complicated and thick probate record.
