According to the 1850 Census for Perry Twp., Davis Co., he was still living with his parents and was 20 years old, born in Kentucky, and a farmer.
The 1860 Census for the Santa Rosa Township, p. 402, l. 15, lists him (a. 24 b. Iowa) in dwelling and family #118 next to the "Trib Fulkerson" family. He is a farmer who has $2000 of real estate and a $2500 personal estate. A 22 year old (b. Iowa) farmer with no money, 'Richd Mack' is the only other inhabitant listed living in the dwelling. A 6 year (b. Iowa) Abner Fulkerson is listed (p. 406 l. 6) living with Richard and Sarah Fulkerson in the same Census. His daughter Lillie or Lilly does not appear to be listed.
The 1870 Census for the Santa Rosa Township, p. 26 l. 15, lists him with $4000 of real estate and a $1000 personal estate. Living with him is Rachel A. (a. 24, b. MO), Abner D. (a. 15, b. IA), Lilly (a. 11, b. CA), Dica A. (a. 7 b. CA), Robt. E. L. (a. 5, b. CA), and John W. (a. 4, b. CA). Rachel's sister, Mary Cannon (a. 12 b. CA) is also listed as 'of this family.'
I was not able to find the 1880 Census listing on this family (either its not there or it is not readable).
The 1900 Sonoma Soundex lists a John Fulkerson (b. Jan. 1834 b. MO) as a servant to Albert F. Chamberlain, which may or may not be our John Fulkerson.
