Notes:

Known as "Roy Wakeland." He was seven years old when his father passed away.
In the 1900 Soundex, for Cedar Prcnt, Boone Co., NE (Vol 2 ED 17 St 1 Ln 18), listed as "Roy L. Wakeland" and enumerated with Jacob Bauman as stepson. The Bauman name appears in the diary several times. There are also several pictures of this family in our various collections. My grandmother would stay at "Uncle" Jake Bauman, who lived on First Street in Santa Rosa, whenever it rained hard. She was working for the Burbank Press at the time.
