Sister Thompson professed religion at the age of 13 years,
joined the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and lived a constant member of that
Church until she moved to Ark. in 1879 [this should read 1869] when she
attached herself to the M. E. Church, South, and lived in that Church until God
called her to transfer to the Church triumphant. Sister T. lived an exemplary
life. She was one of our best Christians. As a wife she was not only ready at
all times, but anxious to do whatever she could to administer comfort to her
husband; as a mother she was unexcelled... She leaves six daughters, three
sons, a husband, and a large circle of friends to mourn her
death.. |
