Notes:
There several stories about Henry and Pearl collected from Joe and Helen Holland and Pat Bodine. Several photos of them also exist. By all accounts, Henry was a difficult and cantankerous individual. He was missing an eye (and has a glass eye in the above photo) from some accident with explosives at an early age, however Pearl used to tell her granddaughter, Pat, that Henry lost his eye in a fight. He was an itinerate inventor and had jobs all over the South, and his family constantly moved as a result and his children were left in the care of other relatives.
