				(HAWKINS) WAKELAND  
			  Sarah P. Hawkins was
				born near Indianapolis, Ind., 5 Jan. 1830, died in Forestville, Calif., 24
				Sept. 1919, and was buried in Sebastopol, Calif. Her father, David Hawkins, was
				born and married in North Carolina and died and was buried in Indiana. Her
				mother, Elizabeth Varner, was born in North Carolina, died in Morgan county,
				Ind., and was buried in Olivet Cemetery. Sarah P. Hawkins lived in Cedar
				Rapids, Neb., until March 1884, when she came to California via Union
				Pacific.  
			  Sarah P. Hawkins
				married in Old Augusta, Ind., in 1850 Preston D. Wakeland. He was born in Ohio,
				died in Cedar Rapids, Neb., 31 May 1896, and was buried there. His father,
				Turner Wakeland, was born and married in Ohio and died and was buried in
				Indiana. His mother, Nettie Arthur, was born in Ohio and died and was buried in
				Hoopeston, Ill.
